Zusammenfassung

Nach wie vor ist die Diagnose einer Appendizitis klinisch zu stellen. Hierbei sind die Treffsicherheit und die Einschätzung der Dringlichkeit einer operativen Therapie wesentlich vom Ausbildungsstand und der Erfahrung des Untersuchers abhängig. Gleiches gilt für die Wertung sonographischer Befunde, die vom darin Geübten zur Diagnostik mit herangezogen werden können (Schwartz 1987; Kümmerle 1988).
