Zusammenfassung
Auch heute noch ist die Ansicht weit verbreitet, eine Querschnittslähmung müsse nach kurzer Zeit unausweichlich zu Geschwürsbildungen führen. Zerstörungen „neurotrophischer Bahnen“ werden hierfür angeschuldigt und damit diese schwerwiegende Komplikation als nicht zu vermeidender Folgezustand erklärt. Diese unzutreffende Ansicht kommt dann in der Bezeichnung „trophisches Geschwür” zum Ausdruck.
