Zusammenfassung

This investigation presents the conclusions based on a follow-up of the course run by infantile and prepubertal schizophrenia with onset between the third and the fourteenth years. The patients were 71 children admitted between 1925 and 1961 to the Univ.-Nervenklinik or to the Klinik für Kinder- and Jugendpsychiatrie in Marburg/Lahn. They had been diagnosed as suffering from infantile schizophrenia; all the children were under 14 years of age when they became ill. The author personally interviewed 46 of the patients. The average duration of the case histories was 15 years.
