Zusammenfassung
Die diagnostische Ultraschalltechnik wurde in ihren Grundlagen in den 50er Jahren entwickelt und fand in den 60er und 70er Jahren in breitem Umfang Aufnahme in die diagnostische Radiologie, in die innere Medizin und in andere Fachgebiete. Erst in den 80er Jahren hat die Ultraschalldiagnostik zunächst in bescheidenem Umfang auch Einzug in die Dermatologie gehalten. Die späte Verwendung der Ultraschalldiagnostik in der Dermatologie hat verschiedene Gründe. Die Dermatologie hat keine Tradition in der Verwendung aufwendiger technischer Verfahren. Der Dermatologe verließ sich seit Jahrzehnten auf sein anamnestisches Gespür und auf sein Auge, die wichtigsten Instrumente in seiner Hand waren der Schreibstift und der Rezeptblock. Die Hinzuziehung aufwendigerer Techniken für die Diagnosestellung, die Vermessung der Befunde und für die Verlaufskontrolle sind neuere Entwicklungen, die bisher auch erst in geringem Umfang Einzug in die dermatologische Praxis gehalten haben.
