Abstract
The effectiveness of materials handling systems involved in PCB fabrication, such as automated storage and retrieval, and computerized transporters and conveyors, depends in large measure upon how well the various accessory items are integrated into the overall operation. These important but often-neglected accessories are usually overshadowed by the major emphasis placed upon the automation and control aspects of the materials handling system. However unsophisticated they may appear, accessories such as tote boxes, work organizers, handling fixtures, carts, static protective containers, etc., are necessary to the efficient operation of the total system.
