Abstract
One of the most time-consuming operations in PCB assembly is that of actually mounting the components. For small-volume operations this is accomplished without difficulty, since traditional manual methods of insertion and soldering are very cost effective. However, when production reaches a certain level it is virtually mandatory for the manufacturer to carefully consider the realizable gains of automated processing.
