Abstract
The rheological investigations of polymer melts have as a practical aim the determination of the processing behaviour of plastics. The knowledge of the correlations between rheological properties and processing conditions, construction parameters of processing machines and their equipment, polymer morphology and mechanical properties of end products has been required for the optimisation of the polymer processing technology [1]. These relationships are also useful when “tailor-made” plastics are required.
