Abstract
Several newtonian liquids with kinematic viscosities below about 1 mm2/s are investigated in order to find out if the commonly used purity specifications are sufficient to qualify the liquids as viscosity standards which can be used to determine the kinetic energy correction of glas capillary viscometers.
