Abstract

Survey of results recently obtained by the author about hereditary behaviour, Gibbs equation, caloric equation of state, local equilibrium, reversible accessibility, use of internal variables, behaviour classification. Toward a new and unified approach: thermodynamics in natural variables.

Invited paper, presented at the First Conference of European Rheologists at Graz (Austria) April 14–16, 1982.
