Abstract

As a striking difference to other polymers the stress-strain-curves of monoaxially stretched polypropylene do not show any stress-hardening region or yield point. The curves look parabolic without any sharp bend, as known about polyamide, polyethyleneterephthalate or polyacrylonitrile. It seems, that the deformation mechanism of sufficiently stretched polypropylene is relative simple.
