Zusammenfassung

Die meisten der bekannten Wachstumsregulatoren sind Derivate von Indolen, Phenoxyessigsäure, Naphthalin und Phenylessigsäure. Einige der Indolderivate sind in Pflanzen gefunden worden; es ist jedoch wahrscheinlich, daß auch noch andere spezifische Stoffe vorkommen, die wachstumsregulierende Funktion besitzen. Die papierchromatographische Technik macht die Auffindung, Isolierung und Analyse der spezifischen Wuchsstoffe möglich und gestattet die Beziehungen zwischen synthetischen Wuchsstoffen und den Stoffwechselprozessen zu untersuchen, die die verschiedenen Wachstums- und Entwicklungsphänomene steuern.
