Abstract
Over the last decades, Descriptive Statistics has increasingly slipped into a cinderella role, overshadowed by her much more glamorous younger sister Inductive Statistics. Franz Ferschl is one of the few who have had a heart also for cinderella1. In a volume in his honour, therefore, it seems appropriate also to pay some attention to this badly neglected girl.
