Formveränderungen der FVK bei Klappeninsuffizienzen des Herzens wurden bereits von Kopelman und Lee (266) und später, besonders bei der Mitralinsuffizienz (MI), von zahlreichen, anderen Autoren beschrieben (13, 15, 19, 20, 34, 41, 82, 101, 197, 200, 201, 208, 218, 219, 265, 307, 376, 378, 396, 420, 500, 511). Experimentelle Abklärungen erfolgten im Modell- und Tierversuch (204, 267, 268, 292, 303, 337, 354, 435, 492, 505) und im Rechenmodell (251, 317, 360, 483).
