Abstract
For the past several years the Sperry Gyroscope Company has been working on the development of a gyroscope concept in which the active angular momentum is that of a spinning mass of fluid. The fluid mass is confined in an approximately spherical cavity and is spun through spin of the cavity; the cavity is mounted on conventional bearings and driven by an external motor.
