Zusammenfassung

Auf dem Gebiet der Kreiseltheorie ist die Zahl der Veröffentlichungen so stark angestiegen, daß es nicht das Ziel des vorliegenden Berichtes sein kann, eine lückenlose Übersicht über den Stand der Erkenntnisse zu geben. Anstelle einer ohnehin nicht erreichbaren Vollständigkeit sollen deshalb hier bestimmte Themengruppen herausgegriffen und die dabei erzielten Ergebnisse oder zumindest die Problemstellungen erklärt werden. Daß dabei nicht alle durch Veröffentlichungen hervorgetretenen Forscher genannt oder ihre Arbeiten ausgewertet werden können, dürfte verständlich sein. Prioritätsfragen müssen dabei als zweitrangig in den Hintergrund treten.
