Zusammenfassung

Zur Untersuchung des Skeletts stehen heute zahlreiche spezielle Verfahren zur Verfügung, die bei schwierigen Fällen gezielt eingesetzt werden können. Sie umfassen vor allem radiologische und pathologisch-anatomische Untersuchungsverfahren. Der Pathologe muß sich bei vielen Knochenkrankheiten selbst einen Eindruck von den radiologischen Veränderungen im Knochen machen und braucht deshalb die radiologischen Dokumente (Röntgenbild, CT, Szintigramm, Angiogramm, MRT usw.). Andererseits sollte der Radiologe Kenntnisse von den makro- und histomorphologischen Strukturveränderungen im Knochen haben, um die radiologisch sichtbaren Strukturveränderungen sicher interpretieren und einordnen zu können. Erst durch eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit kann oft eine sichere Diagnose erstellt werden, wobei klinische Befunde (u. a. Laboruntersuchungen) einbezogen werden müssen.
