Résumé
La surface d’un corps conducteur ou d’un isolant, bombardée par un faisceau d’ions positifs, émet des atomes neutres à l’état excité [1, 2]. La désexcitation de ces particules entraine une émission de lumière dont le spectre optique est équivalent au spectre d’arc de ces atomes pulvérisés. Il est donc possible de réaliser une analyse optique de la surface d’un échantillon en isolant une longueur d’onde correspondant à une raie d’émission d’un élément de la cible.
