Abstract

Letting x be an input alphabet and y an output alphabet, we arbitrarily fix a collection of conditional probabilities W = {W(yx)} x∈x,y∈y called the transition probabilities of a channel satisfying the condition

$$\sum\limits_{_y \in y} {w\left( {y|x} \right)} = 1\left( {\forall x \in X} \right).$$
