Release of Histamine by Noxious Physical Agents, Organic Compounds and by Metals

Histamine and Anti-Histaminics

Abstract

The similarity between the reaction of the blood vessels of human skin to intradermal injection of histamine and to several kinds of injury, — mechanical, thermal and electrical as well as by some chemical agents — led Lewis (1927) to suggest that the skin response to trauma is due to the release of histamine.
