Abstract
Presently some 40 yellow enzymes have been characterized, and many of these have been purified to a state of homogeneity, as judged by one or more criteria; the old yellow enzyme of yeast, l-lactic cytochrome c reductase (cytochrome b2) of yeast, xanthine oxidase of milk, and L-lactic oxidative decarboxylase of Mycobacterium phlei have been obtained in a crystalline form.
