Zusammenfassung
Die P-Welle repräsentiert die Erregungsausbreitung in beiden Vorhöfen. Beide Vorhöfe werden nacheinander erregt, der linke Vorhof über das Bachmann-Bündel 20–40 ms nach dem rechten Vorhof. Der Ausschlag der Vorhofrepolorisation ist meist nicht zu erkennen, da er vom QRS-Komplex überdeckt wird. P ist im allgemeinen positiv, kann jedoch bei Linkstyp in Abl. III negativ sein. Günstigste Ableitungen für die Beurteilung der P-Welle sind die Abl. II, III und V1.
