Abstract

The human papillae filiformes have been investigated macroscopically as well as light and electron microscopically.

  1. 1.

The papilla filiformis resembles a crater on the upper border of which are based the secondary papillae. Depending on the potence of kreatinization of he basal cells one can study different consistences of the tongue epithelium above the papillae filiformes. The most progressive kreratinization was seen in he keratin cones above the secondary papillae. Study of the mitotic activity showed that the regeneration of the epithelium takes place at the outer and inner lower borders of the crater.
