Zusammenfassung
Verursachender Pilz der Kandidiasis ist überwiegend Candida albicans (oder andere Candidasubtypen), vereinzelt treten Torulopsistypen oder sehr selten andere Pilze auf. Insgesamt 75% aller Frauen sind mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben, ca. 45% mehr als 2-mal an einer vulvovaginalen Kandidiasis erkrankt.
