Zusammenfassung
Eine Diskussion über Indikationen zur Insulintherapie gibt es in der pädiatrischen Diabetologie nicht, denn jedes diabetische Kind und jeder diabetische Jugendliche müssen lebenslang mit Insulin behandelt werden. Diese folgenschwere Tatsache muß, so bitter sie ist, allen Eltern sofort nach Manifestation des Diabetes in schonender, aber eindeutiger Weise dargelegt werden.
