Abstract

(3-CF3C6H4)nCu8 (n = 4, 6) are formed by the thermal decomposition of (3-CF3C6H4Cu)8 (see below) in C6H6 or dioxane at 25 to 80°C. Cryoscopic measurements in C6H6, assay both for biaryls and hydrolyzable CF3C6H4 groups, direct 19F NMR observation in dioxane, and kinetic data fit only unimolecular loss of biaryls according to
