Abstract

Nine healthy volunteers (8 when denervated) were studied with echocardiography and systolic time intervals at supine rest, after 3′ isometric exercise (IE) by handgrip, during autonomic blockade (AB) by atropine 0.04 mg/kg and propranolol 0.2 mg/kg intravenously, and during IE with AB both before and after 1 mg digoxin (D) intravenously.
