Abstract

Invasive techniques with the use of foreign bodies in the human body has increasingly been used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in medical practice. Infection associated with these foreign bodies is a common complication, which might be desastrous to the patient. In neurosurgery, ventriculitis related to intraventricular drainage systems is a feared condition, and the right treatment may be life-saving.
