Changes of the CSF pressure after birth

  • Chapter
Annual Review of Hydrocephalus

Abstract

In the previous paper, the authors reported that mice irradiated with Co-60 gamma-rays on day 13 of gestation showed microcephaly at the time of birth, and most of them who survived more than 2 weeks had hydrocephalic involvement. Prior to the manifestation of hydrocephalus, blood congestion in the brain mantle, periventricular hemorrhage and subsequent tissue destruction were detected in high frequency.
