Zusammenfassung

Die Anästhesie bei Patienten mit Herzklappenerkrankungen ist komplex. Für eine sichere Narkosepraxis muß der Anästhesist grundlegende Kenntnisse über die spezifische Pathophysiologie der Erkrankung einschließlich ihrer Kompensationsmechanismen besitzen und — nicht zuletzt — die durch Narkose und Operation hervorgerufenen Veränderungen kennen.
