Zusammenfassung

Die altersabhängige Makuladegeneration kann sich in sehr unterschiedlichen Formen am hinteren Augenpol manifestieren. In den Frühstadien sind meist nur Drusen oder irreguläre fokale Hyper- oder Hypopigmentierungen erkennbar, während in späteren Stadien visuseinschränkende Veränderungen auftreten, zu denen choroidale Neovaskularisationen, Abhebungen des retinalen Pigmentepithels, die sog. geographische Atrophie des retinalen Pigmentepithels und disziforme Narben zählen.
