Dieses Kapitel befaßt sich mit den Reaktionen des Organismus auf schwere Verletzungen und Operationen (Traumareaktion), Nahrungskarenz, Anaesthesie und Infektion. Es werden die Stoffwechselstörungen und endokrinologischen Veränderungen, die infolge solcher Einwirkungen auftreten, beschrieben. Besonders interessiert natürlich die praktisch-klinische Bedeutung solcher Veränderungen.
