Zusammenfassung
Die Wirbelsäule der Ratte senkt sich ins Halsbereich in Form einer Lordose und biegt sieh in den kaudal folgenden Teilen in einer deutlichen Kyphose nach dorsal durch. Ihr höchster Punkt ist in der normalen Kauerstellung etwa in Höhe des 1. Lendenwirbels zu lokalisieren. Sie besteht im einzelnen aus: 7 Halswirbeln, 13 Brustwirbeln, 6 Lendenwirbeln, 4 Kreuzwirbeln, 27–30 Schwanzwirbeln.
