As mentioned in the previous chapter, the result of the geographical spread and its physiographic features is that Mexico’s water resources form a complex and varied mosaic. Authorities have defined 314 watersheds grouped into 37 water regions and 13 administrative entities defined in strictly hydrological terms. (Figure 28.1; Semarnap/CNA 1996).
