Zusammenfassung

Die Histopathologic kennt seit langem „flache“ Veränderungen des Urothels, die in gewissem Ausmaß der makroskopischen Entdeckung entgehen. Diese Läsionen treten isoliert auf oder im Verein mit manifesten Erkrankungen (Entzündungen, Tumoren). Im folgenden sollen nur diejenigen Läsionen diskutiert werden, die in einen zwingenden Zusammenhang mit dem Urothelkarzinom zu bringen sind. Diesen flachen „präneoplastischen“ oder frühen neoplastischen Veränderungen kommt große biologische und klinische Bedeutung zu, in ihnen liegt der Schlüssel für das Verstehen des Verhaltens des Urothelkar-zinoms und für die Einordnung der Zytologie.
