Zusammenfassung
Die korrekte Beurteilung eines urinzytologischen Präparates hängt allein von der Erfahrung des Zytologen und der Präzision der visuellen Beurteilung ab. Eine Vermittlung des hierfür notwendigen Fachwissens ist bisher nur in Form von regelmäßiger konzentrierter Unterweisung am Mikroskop und nur sehr bedingt in literarischer Form möglich, wobei v. a. mangelnde Möglichkeiten zur Standardisierung von Beurteilungskriterien des Urinzytologen eine Rolle spielen. Bildanalyseverfahren und zytophoto-metrische Untersuchungen können zur Quantifizierung und Standardisierung der urinzytologischen Beurteilung beitragen, jedoch nicht das Wissen des erfahrenen Zytologen ersetzen.
