Zusammenfassung
Obwohl die Zahl der durch Bluttransfusionen übertragbaren pathogenen Mikroorganismen groß ist, führen nur wenige beim Empfänger zu einem gehäuften Auftreten von Erkrankungen, die eine regelmäßige Untersuchung aller Blutkonserven erfordern. Zweifellos stellt die in den Richtlinien für die Bluttransfusion [66] geforderte sorgfältige Blutspenderauswahl, die sich auf Anamnese, körperliche Untersuchung und Laboruntersuchungen stützt, die wirkungsvollste Maßnahme zur Qualitätssicherung von Blutkonserven dar. Durch diese Vorauswahl wird das Risiko einer Übertragung von Infektionskrankheiten wesentlich vermindert.
