Zusammenfassung
Einer der Grundpfeiler der Transfusionsmedizin ist die Immungenetik, und diese wiederum ist nicht nur historisch, sondern auch aktuell eines der Hauptarbeitsgebiete der Humangenetik und hat sich mit dieser weiterentwickelt bis zu dem Punkt, daß die Blutgruppenmerkmale heute z. B. auch in Mumien bestimmt werden können. Beispielhaft für diesen schrittweisen wissenschaftlichen Fortschritt ist die Geschichte des ABO-Blutgruppensystems.
