Zusammenfassung
Die Erde dreht sich und dreht sich, und zieht kraft ihrer Gravitation bei ihrer nimmer endenden Rotation alle Lebewesen mit, in den Sonnenschein hinein und aus ihm wieder heraus, tagein, tagaus. Selbst der Vogel im Flug wird noch im Gravitationsfeld mitgezogen. Unvermeidlich ist die überwältigende Mehrzahl aller Lebewesen einem periodischen Wechsel von Hell und Dunkel unterworfen und meistens auch einem synchronen Wechsel der Temperatur. Und dies seit Jahrmilliarden. Was Wunder, wenn sich Lebewesen diesem Rhythmus angepasst haben, sich innerlich schon zeitig aufs Hell- oder Dunkelwerden vorbereiten. Tiere mit höher evolviertem Zentralnervensystem legen täglich Perioden des Schlafes ein. Wer im Frühjahr morgens dem Zwitschern der Vögel lauscht, wird bald gewahr, wie jede Vogelart auf die Minute genau ihr Aufwachen zu verkünden beginnt. Bloße Reaktion auf das Hellerwerden?
