Zusammenfassung
Die Transplantation hämatopoetischer Stammzellen wird einerseits zum Ersatz der Hämatopoese bei hämatologischen Systemerkrankungen, andererseits bei der Behandlung maligner Tumoren mit myelosuppressiven, stammzelltoxischen Methoden eingesetzt. Hämatopoetische Stammzellen sind im Knochenmark, in peripherem Blut nach Vorbehandlung, in Nabelschnurblut und in fötaler Leber enthalten. Die Transplantation besteht in der Transfusion einer Zellsuspension aus diesen Organen. In diesen Suspensionen sind hämatopoetische Stammzellen enthalten, die sich in den Knochenmarkräumen ansiedeln und nach Proliferation und Differenzierung die Blutbildung des Empfängers ersetzen.
