Chronisches Cor pulmonale

Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff chronisches Cor pulmonale wurde durch Stuart-Harris (1957) in die Literatur eingeführt und bezeichnet die infolge einer Lungenerkrankung aufgetretene Rechtsherzbelastung bis hin zur Insuffizienz. Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation definierte 1963 das Cor pulmonale pathologisch anatomisch als „rechtsventrikuläre Hypertrophie, verursacht durch Erkrankungen, die entweder die Funktion oder die Struktur der Lunge treffen“.
