Crustacea — Tracheata

  • Peter Ax

Crustacea and Tracheata are adelphotaxa. This is a common hypothesis that I accept and will explain in detail. The hypothesis has been questioned due to ribosomal DNA analysis (FRIEDRICH & TAUTZ 1995) and special congruencies in the compound eyes and nervous system of the Crustacea and Insecta (NILSSON & OSARIO 1997; WHITINGTON & BACON 1997; DOHLE 1997).
