Part of the Texts and Monographs in Physics book series (TMP)

In this chapter we consider the FK chain driven by an external force. Two important features of the model which make these problems nontrivial are, first of all, the interaction between atoms in the chain and, second, the presence of an on-site periodic potential. One of the important characteristics of the driven dynamics is the mobility as a function of the applied force, which is of great interest for applications.
