Abstract

One of the very important extensions of the classical FK model goes beyond its one-dimensional nature. In particular, the two-dimensional FK model describes a planar lattice of interacting atoms in an external periodic potential which can be either one- or two-dimensional. This chapter discusses some problems related to two-dimensional FK models.
