Triggering and Synchronising

Abstract

Neither triggering nor synchronisation are formal concepts. To develop these concepts, we shall try to express the desired behaviour in diagrams of successive events (DSE) these showing intuitively and vividly what we wish to achieve. Then, to design circuits that have the desired behaviour we shall consider a method of developing a flow table directly from the diagram of successive events. It is this transition from a DSE to a flow table I wish to draw your attention to — not so much to the circuits developed.
