Abstract

The design of materials with hybrid spirally reinforced filler is a system of specifically arranged filler elements consisting of bundles of straight-line fibers, threads, and plaits wound by cockling filaments of some other fibrous material (Fig. 2.1). Later, such elements would be called spirally reinforced elements. Since the major force is perceived at loading by the inner fiber bundles, called the element core, they will be considered as the main reinforcement, whereas the winding filaments are an auxiliary one. The layers of auxiliary reinforcement that separate individual bunches of the main reinforcing material we will call intermediate layers, or simply layers.
