Zusammenfassung
Es besteht kein Zweifel, daß das endokrine System in die pathophysiologischen Abläufe des Schockgeschehens eingebunden ist. Doch die Kenntnis über die Spezifität der hormonellen Reaktionen und ihre klinische Bedeutung bei gestörter Homöostase ist sehr begrenzt. Es gibt keine allgemein akzeptierten, endokrinen Sekretionsmuster, die mit bestimmten Verlaufsformen des Schockgeschehens zu verbinden sind; erst recht fehlen konkrete Beweise, daß hormonelle Spiegel eine Aussage über die Schwere der Erkrankung bzw. die Überlebensrate machen können.
