Zusammenfassung
Bis zum Schulalter fehlt es dem Kind an Einsicht, sich mit seiner Krankheit und den notwendigen Diagnostik- und Therapiemaßnahmen soweit auseinanderzusetzen, dass es diese akzeptiert. Das Erdulden schmerzhafter Prozeduren bedeutet für das Kind Stress, eine adäquate Angst- und Schmerztherapie somit Stressreduktion. Erhöhte Morbidität und Mortalität durch unzureichende Stressprävention gerade auch bei sehr jungen Patienten sind u.a. von Anand et al. [2], die negativen Langzeiteffekte auf die psychische Entwicklung u.a. von der Arbeitsgruppe um Grunau [22] eindrucksvoll beschrieben worden. Häufige, repetitive Schmerzstimuli leiten Chronifizierungsprozesse ein.
