Abstract
A typical application, namely the flexible, automatic assembly of equipment bearing plates, has been taken to show the practical possibilities of a picture sensor system. It consists of three video cameras, two monitors for picture and data processing with dialogue, a keyboard and a processing unit. The sensor system controls transport, handling and grasping functions and recognises incomplete assemblies in the final check.
