Abstract
The vision guided system for arc welding has the function of sensing and following the seam to be welded. The robot repeat mode for every successive workpiece consists of a sensing path mode and a welding path mode. In the sensing path mode, the robot arm picks up the sensing hand and carries it over the seam to sense the position of the seam to be welded. Welding is performed in the welding path mode, with the welding hand, based on the positional information which was gathered in the sensing path mode.
