Epilepsien gehören heute vorwiegend zum Arbeitsgebiet der Neurologie, wozu die Elektroencephalographie wesentlich beigetragen hat. Zur Klinik und Therapie des Anfallsgeschehens, zur Pathophysiologie, Neurophysiologie und pathologischen Anatomie wird daher auf weiterführende Literatur verwiesen.
